Since I first began building custom pool cues in the early 1970s, my custom pool cues have gone through many structural improvements. I am not satisfied with just being "good enough". The process of finding better and more accurate methods of fabricating my pool cues is never ending ... As it should be!
I am dedicated to delivering quality workmanship, using high quality materials, at a fair price.

I choose not to rely on computerized equipment for accuracy in fabricating the custom pool cues I build. Each component is hand fitted to insure that it fits perfectly and interacts smoothly and properly with other components of the pool cue. Unlike production pool cues, if a part does not fit properly, it goes in the trash and is not used in my cues ... End of story!!!

THE SHAFTS
Over 3 years of research, development, & testing was spent on the shaft taper(s) I make. My standard shaft is designed to hit firm, with excellent deflection characteristics.
For those players that prefer a soft or medium hitting pool cue, I can make slight modifications to my standard shaft taper and/or other components of the shaft to meet your preferences, yet maintain the excellent deflection characteristics.

THE SHAFT WOOD
The Hard Maple shaft wood I use is graded no less than "Premium". It's harvested in the Northern United States, aged for a full year in my shop before work begins on it, and produces some of the best shafts in the industry. 

THE EXOTIC WOOD
The beauty & quality of the Domestic & Exotic woods I use speaks for itself. I have a long standing relationship with all my vendors of wood. That affords me the assurance that all the wood I purchase is SECOND TO NONE in quality & figure. Check out the Cue Gallery at the link above, you'll see what I mean.

THE FINISH
In earlier years, lacquer finishes seemed "good enough"... Not any longer! I make no secret of using PPG Automotive finishes on all the custom pool cues I build regardless of price.
Some companies are still using shellac, lacquers, single component polyurethane, and would you believe "Super Glue"!! Yes, it's true!

I refuse to take those short cuts!
Even though automotive finishes can be more difficult and hazardous to work with, I am willing to invest the extra time, effort, and money to allow the use of the very best finishing material available.

THE DESIGNS
My goal is to generate designs that are tasteful, color coordinated, and bring out the natural beauty of the wood and inlay materials. Occasionally I do use stain to bring out the grain features of certain woods, but that is rare.

       LEATHER WRAPS

I am happy to announce, we are now processing our own leather materials to be used for leather wraps.
These new wrap blanks are available on all custom pool cues I build.
They are also available for sale to other Professional Cuemakers and Cue Repair Professionals.

If you're willing to accept a pool cue that's "good enough", an imported or production cue may be what you are looking for.
